Theresa Merritt-Watson is a powerful speaker and panelist committed to changing the trajectory of African Americans in education and economic opportunity. Her work centers on building pride, strengthening identity, and fostering a sense of belonging—especially for youth and families—while challenging institutions to better support and empower communities.
Theresa speaks on topics including curriculum equity, social promotion, teen parenting, the importance of knowing one’s history, and the school-to-prison pipeline. By connecting African American history to present-day realities, she inspires audiences to honor legacy, nurture purpose, and create pathways for every child and family to thrive and succeed.

We offer a variety of programs, including classroom presentations on Black History contributions, workshops for education, corporate presentations, community outreach, reading enrichment, economic development for youth, and parent education programs.

Blacks-In Book Club for Children
(Ages 4–7 and 8–10)
Next Session Begins January 10, 2026
The Blacks-In Book Club meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, offering engaging reading sessions that celebrate African American history, culture, and contributions. Sessions are held from 11:00–11:30 a.m. for children ages 4–7 and 12:00–12:30 p.m. for children ages 8–10.
Children will explore both fiction and nonfiction books written by Black authors. These stories help build cultural pride, strengthen identity, and foster a sense of belonging. For children of all backgrounds, the book club promotes inclusivity, understanding, and respect for diversity.
The program inspires confidence, critical thinking, and a love for reading. Representation in literature increases engagement and encourages meaningful conversations among children, families, and communities. At the end of each session, members receive a Black History Fact, highlighting the powerful contributions African Americans have made—and continue to make—to the development of this country and the world.
Registration is required at Blacks-In.com or SynergyNetworkLLC.com. Families are asked to confirm attendance for second and fourth Saturday sessions. Confirmation details and participation links will be provided upon registration.
